About this opportunity

The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction, on behalf of the Board of Regents, is requesting proposals for a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) firm for the Virtual Production Institute Fort Worth project at Texas A&M University Fort Worth campus, with proposals due November 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST.

The scope encompasses pre-construction services—constructability guidance, cost estimates, and construction schedules—establishment of a Guaranteed Maximum Price, and complete construction of a 10,000 square foot virtual production stage and accompanying facilities within the College of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts. The facility will serve primary educational functions and secondary uses including research and development, creative works production, and commercial rental use. The project is designed to support workforce development and virtual production processes as prioritized by the 88th and 89th Texas Legislature.

The total Planning Amount is $33.45 million, with $19,905,745 allocated as the Amount Available for Construction Contract; the remainder covers fees, furnishings, other work, miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies. Award will be based on best value criteria as determined by the Owner. The CMAR selection follows Texas Education Code 51.782(e) provisions.

Respondents must submit proposals through the eBuilder platform and complete the State of Texas Subcontracting Plan form; a tutorial video is available to support completion. The Owner reserves the right to conduct interviews with CMAR firms as part of the evaluation process. All addendums will be posted within eBuilder. Questions should be directed to Lee Gibson at the Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction.
