About this opportunity
The Town of Greenwich Purchasing Department, on behalf of its Parks and Recreation Department, is soliciting sealed bids under RFB #7973 for cleaning services at the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course, 1300 King Street, Greenwich, Connecticut, with bids due November 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Purchasing Department.
Scope covers four locations: the Golf Center administration side, year-round, three times per week; Golf Center public bathrooms, April to mid-December, four times per week; Restaurant/Clubhouse bathrooms, April to mid-January, four times per week; and Golf Course Maintenance Building bathrooms and office, April to mid-December, four times per week. The contractor supplies all labor and cleaning supplies, and the Town supplies paper products, hand soap, trash liners, and feminine hygiene items. Crews begin at golf course personnel start times, which range from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. by season, and the contractor's manager meets golf course management every two months.
The initial term runs one year, March 1, 2027 through February 28, 2028, with four optional one-year renewals by mutual consent. Pricing is submitted weekly for each cleaning location, with unit prices inclusive of overhead, profit, equipment, insurance, transportation, and delivery. Bidders indicate whether prices may change in optional years and state maximum percentage increases or decreases. Bid prices remain firm for a minimum of 90 days from the deadline. The Town is exempt from federal and state taxes.
Bidders must provide five customer references, disclose all subcontractors, and submit a non-collusion statement and code of ethics compliance. Insurance requirements are set by the Town's Director of Risk Management and cannot be altered. They include general liability of $2 million aggregate and $1 million per occurrence, comprehensive automobile liability of $1 million, and excess liability of $5 million, among other coverages. Policies must come from carriers rated A-:VII or better by AM Best and licensed to write coverage in Connecticut. Payment is net 30 after invoice, documentation, and acceptance of services.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was scheduled for October 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the golf course.
