About this opportunity

The Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education is soliciting sealed bids for the replacement of the water softener system at Clarkston High School in Michigan as part of a bond-funded capital project. The primary deliverable is the installation of a new water softener system to replace the existing equipment at the high school facility located at 6093 Flemings Lake Road, Clarkston, Michigan. Bidding documents have been prepared by GMB Architecture and Engineering of Holland, Michigan, and are available for download through Pipeline or review at the Construction Manager's office (George W. Auch Company, 65 University Drive, Pontiac, Michigan) beginning December 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at the main entry of Clarkston High School. Sealed proposals in duplicate must be submitted no later than 12:00 pm EST on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, to Clarkston Community Schools at 6389 Clarkston Road, Clarkston, Michigan 48346, Attention: Wes Goodman, with public bid opening and reading occurring at 2:00 pm EST on the same date at the Administration Building. All proposals must remain firm for sixty days following submission.

Bids exceeding $24,459 require a bid bond from a Treasury-listed surety company or a cashier's check equal to at least 5 percent of the proposal amount, while successful bidders with proposals of $50,000 or more must furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the bid, with bond costs included in the proposal. All bidders must submit sworn and notarized statements disclosing any familial relationships between the bidder or its employees and members of the board or superintendent, as well as compliance with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act Affidavit. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to award the contract to other than the low bidder at its sole discretion. No specific set-asides for disadvantaged enterprises or minority-owned businesses are indicated in the available documentation. The budget parameters suggest a project value potentially ranging from approximately $24,459 to $50,000 or higher, based on the bonding thresholds established in the bidding requirements.
