About this opportunity
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a contractor to perform medical testing for employees at Clarks Summit State Hospital (CSSH), located in Clarks Summit, PA. The procurement focuses on comprehensive medical monitoring services including respiratory protection program testing, asbestos clearance, lead blood level assessments, and audiometric testing with professional interpretation. The contract requires both on-site and off-site medical testing capabilities, with specific emphasis on providing a respiratory clearance certificate from a certified medical physician to determine employee medical suitability for respirator usage. The solicitation (Number 6100056686) is being conducted electronically through the SRM system, with electronic bid responses only accepted. Key dates include the original bid submission deadline of August 25, 2022, at 4:00 PM, with bid opening scheduled for 4:01 PM the same day. Interested vendors must be registered on the Pennsylvania Supplier Portal (www.pasupplierportal.state.pa.us) and can obtain additional guidance through the SRM Bidding Reference Guide or by contacting the helpdesk at (877) 435-7363.
The solicitation does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the available documentation. The contract appears to be open to qualified medical testing providers capable of meeting the comprehensive medical monitoring requirements for state hospital employees. While no specific budget range is provided, the scope of services suggests a potentially significant contract value given the extensive medical testing requirements across multiple health assessment domains. The jurisdictions associated with this procurement include Lackawanna County and Claysville Borough, though the primary service location is the Clarks Summit State Hospital. Vendors interested in responding must carefully review all solicitation documents, monitor the DGS emarketplace website for potential change notices, and ensure complete compliance with the electronic submission requirements and professional medical testing standards.
