About this opportunity
The City of Johnstown in New York is seeking sealed bids for the 2024 ADA Compliant Sidewalk Construction Project, which focuses on constructing and replacing sidewalk ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards throughout various city locations. The procurement involves infrastructure improvements specifically targeting sidewalk accessibility and compliance. Sealed bids will be received at the Johnstown City Clerk's Office until 11:00 a.m. on August 13, 2024, with bid specifications and forms available from July 22, 2024, at the City Engineer's office or City Clerk's office. Bidders must submit sealed proposals clearly marked "2024 ADA COMPLIANT SIDEWALK RAMPS PROJECT" either in person or via registered/certified mail. The contract term is scheduled from October 11, 2024, and covers all New York State counties. Bidders will need to demonstrate technical capabilities for concrete and asphalt work, sidewalk ramp construction, and compliance with municipal infrastructure standards.
The procurement opportunity includes no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, with Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Minority Owned, and Women Owned sub-contracting goals all set at 0%. Previously, similar street resurfacing projects were awarded to contractors including Empire Paving, Callanan Industries, and Peter Luizzi Brother. The bid tabulation document reveals three potential contractors for this project: Birdsall Excavation, Callanan Industries, and New Castle Paving. While specific budget ranges were not explicitly stated, the comprehensive bid documentation suggests a substantial municipal infrastructure investment. The City of Johnstown reserves the right to waive informalities or reject any/all bids, providing flexibility in the procurement process. Interested contractors should carefully review the full specifications and prepare detailed proposals demonstrating technical expertise in ADA-compliant sidewalk infrastructure construction.
