About this opportunity
The City of Marysville Public Works Department is requesting proposals for window replacement and retrofit at City Hall and the Marysville Police Department, with sealed bids due August 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. local time. All bidders must hold a current California State C-17 Glazing Contractor license and register with the California Department of Industrial Relations under Labor Code section 1725.5 prior to submission — a mandatory eligibility gate. Installation supervisors or lead installers must hold FGIA/AAMA Installation Masters Certification or equivalent manufacturer-approved training, or the contractor must be an authorized dealer of the specified manufacturer.
The scope encompasses removal and replacement of existing windows at both facilities with Milgard Tuscany Series V400 retrofit units or City-approved equivalents, with existing exterior frames remaining in place. Work includes field verification of dimensions and quantities, coordination with City representatives to schedule around operations, proper installation of safety glazing where code requires, and two special roof access casement units on the north and south sides requiring full 90-degree swing capability. Contractors must protect surrounding wall finishes during installation. All work must be completed within 60 working days from the Notice to Proceed.
The project cost estimate is $235,201.71. Prevailing wage rates apply to all laborers and workmen. Bidders must demonstrate three prior projects of similar size and scope completed within the previous five years as either prime contractor or subcontractor, with documented customer references. Successful bidders must furnish performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract price. Bid security of 10 percent of total bid price is required in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond. Liquidated damages are $1,000 per day for each scope of work. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at the City Council's next regularly scheduled meeting following bid opening. A non-mandatory pre-bid site meeting is scheduled for July 28, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at City Hall. Written questions and requests for information, including "or-equal" materials requests, are due July 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
