About this opportunity
The City of Grand Junction, located in Mesa County, Colorado, is seeking competitive bids for a dumpster procurement contract through an Invitation for Bid (IFB) numbered IFB-5712-25-DD. The solicitation requires qualified vendors to supply and deliver a specific quantity of front-load dumpsters, including 25 2-yard units, 15 6-yard units, and 15 8-yard units, each with A-frames and side pockets. Technical specifications mandate watertight construction, Forest Green painting, and precise dimensional requirements for holes and pockets. The bid is due on August 8, 2025, with anticipated contract execution on August 13, 2025, and an initial contract period of twelve months with potential extensions for up to three additional one-year periods. Vendors must provide comprehensive pricing that includes all associated costs such as labor, equipment, supplies, materials, freight (F.O.B. Destination), travel, and mobilization, with no additional charges permitted beyond the bid price. Delivery requirements stipulate 10 units from each line item must be delivered by October 1, 2025, with final delivery no later than December 31, 2025.
The procurement appears to be open to all qualified vendors without specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must submit material specification sheets with their proposals and understand that the city reserves the right to reject products not meeting exact specifications. The procurement is tax-exempt, with payment terms set at net 30 days, and the city may consider prompt payment discounts during bid evaluation. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the solicitation suggests a potentially significant contract value. Vendors will be expected to maintain unit pricing throughout the contract period if awarded, and the city anticipates the possibility of purchasing additional dumpsters during the contract term. The city's approach indicates a structured, competitive procurement process designed to secure high-quality dumpster equipment at a fair market price.
