About this opportunity
The City of Alexandria Water Department is requesting sealed bids on a minimum of one chlorine handling truck with knuckle boom crane under Bid 2593, with bids due September 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CDT and mandatory pre-bid conference on August 20, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. CST at the City of Alexandria Purchasing Department. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is required for all prospective bidders.
The unit must be new, unused, and of current model year manufacture (2026 or newer chassis). Specifications call for an HIAV 200C-5 knuckle boom crane with five sections, 42-foot minimum boom reach, and defined lift capacity ratings at various distances, paired with a 2026 or newer Freightliner MC-106 chassis and Cummins B6.7 diesel engine. Hydraulic systems, body construction, and electrical accessories are detailed in the bid package. Bidders must hold a valid Louisiana Motor Vehicle Dealer's License and submit a copy with their bid; failure to do so results in automatic rejection.
Delivery is F.O.B., freight prepaid to the City of Alexandria Motor Pool. Bid prices must remain firm for ninety days from award and include all freight and transport charges. At delivery, the awardee must provide two copies of parts, service, and operator's manuals, permanent license plates, and registration documents. A one-year minimum warranty is required; an optional one-year extended full warranty is available for an additional fee.
Under the City's AFEAT program (Alexandria Fairness, Equality, Accessibility, and Teamwork Program), bidders are encouraged to document bona fide efforts to engage minority and disadvantaged business enterprise subcontractors; such efforts are considered in bid review and rating. Payment is due within thirty days of proper delivery and invoice submission. The City reserves the right to award by item or total bid and to reject any or all bids. Bids may be submitted by hand delivery, express mail, or electronic submission through Central Bidding.
