About this opportunity

The City of Santa Fe Youth and Family Services Division is soliciting applications for the Children and Youth Commission Innovation Fund—a competitive small-grant program for nonprofit organizations supporting children and youth ages birth to twenty-one—with applications due July 10, 2026. Eligibility is restricted to organizations holding 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or whose programs are covered by a fiscal agent meeting that requirement.

Three funding priorities guide awards: Education and Career Readiness, Youth Physical and Mental Health and Well-Being, and Support Services for Youth at Higher Risk. Individual grants are capped at $45,000.00. Funding derives from a percentage of the City's share of state gross receipts tax and fluctuates accordingly; total award amounts vary by fiscal year.

Applicants must maintain professional liability insurance at the time of purchase order issuance, hold active vendor status in the City of Santa Fe procurement system (https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/santafenm), and comply with New Mexico workers' compensation laws and rules for employees. Failure to comply with workers' compensation requirements when applicable may result in termination of awarded funds.

The City's strategic plan covering fiscal years 2027–2029, posted May 29, 2026, outlines the commission's mission to enhance community services, expand equitable access, and foster sustainable growth in program effectiveness through funding allocation. The plan reflects the three-year planning period guiding resource allocation across the Santa Fe community.
