About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting sealed bids for chain for the Richmond Crew under FY10, with bids due November 2, 2009.

The scope is 5/16" steel proof coil welded chain in Grade 30, self-colored finish, with a total order of 13 drums containing 550 feet each (7,150 feet cumulative). The chain must meet a 1,900-pound working load limit and 95-pound-per-100-feet weight specification, with a maximum skid load capacity of 2 drums per skid. Vendors must be contacted at least 24 hours prior to delivery to arrange logistics.

Maine offers an in-state and Maine-manufactured preference where price, quality, availability, and other factors are equal. Bidders must submit separate unit prices using prescribed forms or electronic media, with responses submitted electronically to the Division of Purchases in Augusta. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine sales and use taxes. All transportation charges, including freight, are prepaid at the contractor's expense. Cash discounts of 20 days or more are considered in determining the low bid; discounts under 20 days are not. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value considerations including quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost to the State. The Division reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities and technicalities, and increase or decrease quantities by 10%.

For additional information or to coordinate delivery, contact the procuring office at desk number 582-5771 or cell number 446-8009.
