About this opportunity

The State of Maine is requesting quotations for 5/16" proof coil welded steel chain for the Richmond Crew, with quotes due December 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time.

The scope is 12 drums of Grade 30 self-colored steel chain, totaling 6,600 feet. Each drum contains 550 feet with a weight specification of 95 pounds per 100 feet and a workload limit of 1,900 pounds. Maximum of 2 drums per skid. Vendor must be contacted at least 24 hours prior to delivery to coordinate logistics.

Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value to the State, with consideration given to quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. Vendors must submit separate unit prices for each item and state delivery terms and cash discounts. Discounts under 20 days will not be considered in award determinations. All transportation charges are the contractor's responsibility unless otherwise specified. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes; quotes should exclude these taxes.

The Division of Purchases reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities, increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent, and resolve tied bids by favoring in-state bidders or those offering Maine-manufactured products. Contractors must furnish items exactly as specified on the Purchase Order; any deviation may result in rejection.

All questions must be submitted through the online portal's Question and Answer link. Vendors are responsible for regularly logging in to review posted questions and answers; inquiries through alternative channels will not be considered valid.
