About this opportunity
The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is soliciting proposals for granite repair and replacement work at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, with sealed proposals due May 5, 2022 at 10:00 AM. A mandatory pre-proposal conference and site visit was held April 25, 2022; attendance was required for proposal eligibility. A strict communication restriction is in effect from solicitation advertisement through final award — interested firms may not communicate with Authority, GWCC, or facility staff or consultants except through formal question submission or existing work agreements; finalists and the apparent awardee are prohibited from issuing public statements or press releases regarding selection status, and violations result in submittal rejection.
The scope encompasses removal and replacement of cracked and damaged granite pavers at Centennial Olympic Park, releveling and resetting of shifted pavers, installation of expansion joints, reset of loose cobblestones on waterfalls, and re-caulking, re-grouting, re-sanding, and re-sealing of all pavers as specified. Materials include granite sourced from Coldspring with thermal finish, specified caulking and grouting materials, and stainless steel hardware. The contractor must possess a minimum of five years' installation experience on similar projects, provide a dedicated safety member with minimum 30-hour safety certification, obtain forklift operator certification, and furnish all equipment and restroom facilities.
The contract term is sixty working days after execution, with completion required by May 5, 2022. Payment terms specify 25 percent upon delivery of all granite and 75 percent upon job completion. The contractor must secure a performance bond equal to 100 percent of the contract award amount and a bid bond equal to 10 percent of the base bid prior to work commencement. Proposals remain open for acceptance for 120 days following submission. Written questions were due April 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM, with answers posted April 29. Evaluation weighs technical merit at 70 percent (demonstrated granite repair experience, financial qualifications, references, and personnel qualifications) and cost at 30 percent. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, negotiate with the selected proposer, and split awards among multiple firms. Brightview Landscape Services has been selected as the Apparent Awardee.
