About this opportunity

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the CD Salem Maintenance/Mechanic/Truck Wash Coil Doors Replacement Project, seeking a qualified contractor to remove and install two coil overhead doors at its Salem truck wash facility. The project requires comprehensive replacement work, including removal and disposal of existing coil doors, hardware, brush seals, and operators, and installation of new coil overhead doors, tracks, car wash modified operators, brush seals, aluminum hoods, and three-button controls. Bidders must submit their proposals electronically, by mail, UPS, or FedEx by November 3, 2021, at 2:00 PM CDT. Site visits can be scheduled by contacting Allen Wankum at (573) 690-1172 no later than October 25, 2021, and written questions are due by October 26, 2021, at 12:00 PM. The project has a specified completion date of April 28, 2022, and will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on a comprehensive evaluation of the submitted bid. Bidders must provide a 5% bid bond or equivalent security, and the successful contractor will be required to submit a 100% performance and payment bond.

The solicitation encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with specific goals of 10% MBE and 5% WBE participation through subcontractors, suppliers, or other arrangements. Service-Disabled Veteran Enterprises (SDVEs) are also encouraged to participate. The contract requires the winning bidder to maintain specific insurance coverage, including commercial general liability insurance ($500,000 per person/$3,000,000 per occurrence), automobile liability insurance ($500,000 per person/$3,000,000 per occurrence), and workers' compensation insurance. Liquidated damages of $200 per calendar day will be assessed for late completion. While no specific award value or budget range is explicitly stated, the project involves comprehensive door replacement at a truck wash facility. Payment terms are net 30 days, and MoDOT reserves the right to use the state purchasing card (VISA) for payment. The contractor must also provide a one-year warranty for parts and labor on all building materials and equipment, ensuring quality and reliability of the completed work.
