About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a qualified contractor for the CD Cuba Maintenance Complex Sewer Connection Project located in Clay County. The project requires the installation of two grinder pumps with 13.4 Hp motors, an FRP lift station and valve vault, valves, flow meter, piping, and associated appurtenances, along with a 2-inch force main approximately 1.6 miles long with air valves connecting to an existing City of Cuba manhole. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Cuba Maintenance Building, with alternative site visits available by contacting Allen Wankum. Bids are due on August 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM CDT and can be submitted electronically through MissouriBUYS or via mail, UPS, or FedEx. The project requires a comprehensive scope of work including demolition of existing septic systems, electrical work, traffic control, erosion control, permits, and site restoration. Bidders must provide a bid bond or certified check for 5% of the bid amount and demonstrate the ability to self-perform a minimum of 10% of the project work.
The procurement encourages Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation of 10% and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation of 5%, though these are not mandatory requirements. Contractors must comply with prevailing wage requirements per Annual Wage Order #31 for Crawford County and provide OSHA 10 certification for all employees before beginning work. The project will assess liquidated damages of $1,000 per day for late completion, with the total project completion date set for August 6, 2025, including 15 days for submittals. Upon award, the successful bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond for 100% of the contract price. The project requires coordination with electrical utilities and includes the installation of a new 200-amp service. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project, including infrastructure improvements and utility connections, suggests a significant investment in upgrading the Cuba Maintenance Complex's sewer infrastructure.
