About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking qualified roofing contractors to perform a comprehensive restoration of the Camdenton Salt Dome roof, located at 586 Pier Thirty One Road, Camdenton, Missouri. The project involves power washing the dome roof with Neogard 8500 Biodegradable Cleaner, priming with Neogard 7797 Epoxy Primer, repairing foam blisters with 3lb foam, and applying Neogard 7490 Aliphatic Base Coat and Top Coat. The dome, which is approximately 82' wide by 50' tall with a 6' concrete wall, requires extensive roof restoration work. Bids are due on September 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM CDT, with an anticipated project completion date of May 3, 2023. Potential contractors can schedule site visits by contacting Allen Wankum, and written questions must be submitted by September 19, 2022, at 3:00 PM. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on a lump sum pricing evaluation. Contractors must provide a 10-year material and labor warranty from the manufacturer and are subject to liquidated damages of $200 per day for late completion.
MoDOT actively encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with specific goals of 10% MBE and 5% WBE participation. Service-Disabled Veteran (SDV) businesses may also receive preference. Bidders are required to submit a bid bond or equivalent for 5% of the bid amount, and the winning contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds. Insurance requirements include general liability coverage of $500,000/$4,000,000, automobile liability of $500,000/$4,000,000, and workers' compensation coverage. While no specific incumbent vendor is identified, the project will be funded by state sources and does not include renewal options. Contractors must also provide comprehensive documentation, including completed exhibit forms, bid forms (if over $50,000), certificates of liability insurance, and E-Verify documentation. The project includes four specific hold points requiring MoDOT inspection: cleaning the dome roof, repairing roof damage, applying the base coat, and applying the top coat.
