About this opportunity

The State of California, through the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), is seeking bids for the procurement of CATS Simulators and Support for the jurisdictions of Sacramento County and Sacramento City. The simulators are needed to provide equipment training to help operators become more efficient and safer, while also reducing the carbon footprint and long-term costs for the state. The solicitation includes requirements for simulator base units, mobility kits, and technical support subscriptions. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on an "All or None" basis, with consideration of small business and disabled veteran-owned business preferences. The RFQ provides a detailed schedule, including a question deadline of 3/27/24, a quote submission deadline of 4/5/24 at 3:00 PM Pacific Time, and an estimated intent to award date of 4/12/24.

The solicitation is open to all vendors, with encouragement for participation from Microbusinesses (MB), Small Businesses (SB), Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE). Caltrans is committed to meeting the state's 25% Small Business participation goal, and a Small Business incentive may apply to this solicitation. The successful bidder will be required to comply with various state and federal requirements, including non-discrimination and labor laws. No DVBE goal is set, but DVBE participation is encouraged, and a DVBE incentive may apply. The contract opportunity does not provide any information on incumbent vendors or budget ranges.
