About this opportunity
The State of Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Division of Procurement Services, is requesting quotations on behalf of the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) for one 16-foot enclosed cargo trailer under RFQ 17D 201123-117, with quotations due December 7, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. EST. MaineDOT anticipates purchasing four units during the first year of the resulting Master Agreement.
The trailer must be a flat-nose, totally enclosed unit approximately 19 feet 8 inches long and 102 inches wide with minimum payload capacity of 4,725 pounds, two rear doors, a personnel door, electric brakes, two 3,500-pound-rated axles, LED lighting, and a minimum gross vehicle weight rating of 7,000 pounds. Bidders must provide detailed specifications, warranty information, product data sheets, and certification of compliance with all federal and state regulations. Pricing must be valid for 180 days and quoted on a Free on Board Destination basis, with all shipping charges to Augusta, Maine included in the bid price.
The contract term runs from December 28, 2020 through December 31, 2021, with three optional one-year renewal periods extending through December 31, 2024. Bidders must have or establish service facilities in Maine with trained technicians and repair parts stocked within a 75-mile radius of five regional headquarters locations: Scarborough, Augusta, Dixfield, Bangor, and Presque Isle. The award will be based on best value considerations, including equipment quality, specification conformity, delivery timeline, warranty terms, manufacturer performance data, and parts availability. Liquidated damages of $100 per unit per calendar day apply for delivery delays beyond the agreed date. All questions must be submitted through the State of Maine's AdvantageME Vendor Self Service system no later than 48 hours prior to closure. The contract is subject to a Financial Assistance Agreement between MaineDOT and the U.S. Department of Transportation.
