About this opportunity

The State of Maine, Division of Purchases, is requesting quotes for a Canycom BFP602 walk-behind rubber track carrier with steel bucket, with quotes due by 2:00 p.m. local time on June 1, 2011.

In-state bidders and those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine receive tie-breaking preference under state procurement rules. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine sales taxes; quotes must exclude these.

Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item unless otherwise specified and may submit alternate bids with complete identification and descriptive literature. Supporting documents and literature may be faxed or mailed to the Division of Purchases before bid opening. Samples, when required, must be furnished at no cost to the State. All deliveries must comply with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, with transportation charges prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified.

Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value to the State, with evaluation considering quality of goods, conformity to specifications, purpose, and delivery date. Unit prices govern in cases of discrepancy with total prices. Cash discounts of 20 days or more are factored into low-bid determination. Electronic submission is mandatory through the Question and Answer link on the Solicitation Details View page; all vendor inquiries must be submitted through this channel and vendors are responsible for regularly reviewing posted responses.

The Division of Purchases reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities and technicalities, increase or decrease quantities by 10 percent, and accept items deemed in the State's best interest. Default by the contractor may result in procurement from alternative sources with excess costs charged to the contractor, except for delays caused by strikes, fires, acts of God, or other causes beyond reasonable control.
