About this opportunity
Broward County is seeking a fixed contract for Canal Structure S-27 Improvements through its Water Management Division, focusing on the removal of an existing control structure and installation of a new control structure. The project requires vendors to provide comprehensive labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals in accordance with detailed specifications and requirements. Qualified vendors must submit electronic responses through BPRO by October 22, 2025, with all questions and clarification inquiries due prior to this deadline. Submission requirements include compliance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection grant guidelines, specific county licensing requirements, and bonding specifications. Evaluation criteria will likely encompass vendor qualifications, technical capabilities, proposed approach, and adherence to project specifications, with an emphasis on responsiveness and meeting all solicitation requirements.
The contract opportunity includes significant emphasis on County Business Enterprise (CBE) goal participation through the Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD), with specific requirements for vendors to utilize CBE firms and meet predetermined participation goals. Vendors must submit documentation including Letters of Intent for CBE firms and potentially demonstrate good faith efforts if unable to meet the full participation goal. Potential liquidated damages of up to 10% of the total contract amount may be assessed for failure to meet CBE participation commitments. While a specific contract value is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive documentation and technical drawings suggest a substantial infrastructure improvement project. Vendors must also comply with various additional requirements, including criminal history screening practices, drug-free workplace certifications, and specific insurance coverage minimums, with General Liability set at $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in aggregate.
