About this opportunity
The California university system is seeking a consultant to develop a Campuswide Active Transportation Plan through Request for Proposal (RFP) #HM25001, with proposals due on November 4, 2025. The primary objective of this procurement is to create a comprehensive transportation strategy focusing on active mobility solutions for the campus environment. The consultant will be responsible for coordinating a Project Steering Committee, conducting a project kick-off meeting, and developing a detailed project schedule. Key deliverables include a Data Needs Memo to be prepared prior to the initial meeting and ongoing coordination with the University's Project Manager throughout the planning process. The consultant must demonstrate expertise in transportation planning, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to synthesize complex data related to campus mobility. The project will involve identifying participants, establishing communication channels, reviewing existing data, and developing public engagement strategies. Evaluation criteria are likely to include the consultant's approach to project management, understanding of active transportation principles, and ability to collaborate effectively with university stakeholders.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly mentioned in the provided documentation, the procurement appears to be open to professional consulting firms with specialized expertise in transportation planning. The RFP suggests a comprehensive approach that will require sophisticated understanding of campus mobility systems and active transportation strategies. The project appears to be part of a broader campus infrastructure improvement initiative, though specific budget ranges are not disclosed in the available information. Potential respondents should carefully review the full RFP document (00-RFP_HM25001_Campuswide_Active_Transportaion_Plan.pdf) for complete details on qualification requirements, submission guidelines, and potential contract parameters. The comprehensive nature of the project implies a potentially significant contract value, though precise financial details are not specified in the initial posting. Interested consultants should prepare detailed proposals that demonstrate their capacity to develop a holistic active transportation plan that meets the university's strategic mobility objectives.
