About this opportunity

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSA) is soliciting proposals for commercial laundry, linen, and lab coat cleaning services across multiple campus locations and Hill Country regions, with proposals due July 24, 2026.

The scope encompasses cleaning and processing of UTHSA-owned lab coats; rental and UTHSA-owned healthcare linen services; optional UTHSA-owned or employee-owned scrub laundering programs; and pick-up, delivery, tracking, repairing, replacement, reporting, and disposal services. Vendors must manage inventory review and PAR-level maintenance across multiple facilities, including the Multispecialty and Research Hospital (MSRH), Dental, Clinical Operations, outpatient clinics, surgical centers, research and teaching laboratories, specialty care facilities, and administrative buildings. Certain locations lack centralized dirty-linen staging areas, requiring vendors with strong logistics and flexible service models to accommodate unpredictable volume fluctuations driven by patient census, seasonal demand, emergent care activity, departmental needs, and organizational growth.

Proposers may submit responses for all requested services, one or more individual service categories (lab coats only, linen only, or select options), or one or more individual service locations (Clinical, MSRH, or both). Each department will issue its own purchase order and pay for respective services. Quantities, frequency, and locations will vary by department and site. UTHSA does not guarantee any specific volume of compensation. The RFP permits modular bids, allowing vendors to compete for full scope or partial service offerings and site configurations.
