About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is issuing a solicitation for the Alligator Alley Environmental Education Project, which involves the design, fabrication, production, furnishment, delivery, and installation of an original, true-life, 12-foot bronze statue of an American alligator to be placed at the mile marker 35 rest area on I-75. The selected vendor will be responsible for providing detailed design drawings and a fabrication schedule within 30 days, fabricating the necessary molds within 45 days of approval, and then producing, furnishing, delivering, and installing the statue on a bronze pad within 90 days of the approved design. The FDOT will provide a concrete pedestal and coordinate the installation, with progress payments made upon completion of the three defined deliverables. Vendors must adhere to specific requirements regarding the statue's design, site conditions, durability, and maintenance, and provide the FDOT with proper care and cleaning instructions.

The solicitation is open to all interested vendors, though the FDOT encourages small, minority, women, and service-disabled veteran businesses to compete. All bidders, proposers, and respondents must be registered in the State of Florida's MyFloridaMarketPlace system and properly licensed if the business being provided requires such licensing. The contract is subject to a MFMP Transaction Fee and restrictions related to Scrutinized Companies Lists. The contractor must also comply with various nondiscrimination statutes and authorities, as well as the Inspector General requirements under Florida law. The contract term is anticipated to be from the date of execution through January 2023, with no renewal options.
