About this opportunity

Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) in Dallas County, Texas, is seeking to procure Cable, Copper, 535 MCM, Locomotive in a 500-foot roll through a purchase order solicitation. The procurement is specifically for a specialized cable product with precise technical specifications, targeted for locomotive applications. This opportunity requires vendors to submit bids through the Bonfire registration platform, with a posted date of January 7, 2026, and a response deadline of January 14, 2026. Vendors must provide comprehensive bid documentation, including detailed pricing that incorporates FOB Destination shipping terms with freight costs included in the overall price. Key submission requirements include providing unit prices, quantities, and extended totals, with invoices to be submitted electronically to APInvoices@dart.org. The procurement emphasizes strict delivery performance, with time and delivery rates being essential elements of the contract, and potential for rejection or default termination if vendor performance does not meet specified requirements.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the available documentation. The procurement appears open to qualified vendors capable of meeting the technical specifications and contractual terms. Payment terms are standardized at Net 30, with invoices processed 30 days from receipt or order completion. While no specific award value or budget range was provided, the procurement seems focused on a specific cable product for locomotive use. Vendors must certify compliance with foreign terrorist organization restrictions and anti-boycott provisions related to Israel. The contract will be governed by Texas law, with any legal venue situated in Dallas County. Potential bidders should carefully review the attached Purchase Order Terms and Conditions document, which provides comprehensive guidelines for vendor performance, tax obligations, and contractual expectations.
