About this opportunity

The State of California, specifically the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Board of Parole Hearings (BPH), is procuring a statewide agreement for video conference and in-person foreign language interpreter services, along with document translation services on an as-needed basis. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all necessary labor, supplies, transportation, equipment, and related expenses to deliver these services across all CDCR institutions. The primary service delivery method will be video conference interpreting, which is anticipated to comprise approximately 95 percent of all interpreter requests, while in-person interpreting services will account for approximately 5 percent of requests. Document translation services may also be requested and will be compensated according to established rate sheets. The request for proposals was posted on April 17, 2026, with a submission deadline of May 15, 2026. While specific evaluation criteria, required qualifications, and detailed service specifications are not enumerated in the provided information, contractors should anticipate requirements typical of interpreter services contracts, including language proficiency, professional certification, and the ability to support multiple languages as needed by the correctional institutions.

The provided contract opportunity documentation does not specify set-aside designations, restrictions on respondent organizations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, incumbent vendors, existing infrastructure requirements, or budget ranges. Interested contractors should consult the complete Request for Proposal (RFP) document and any supplemental materials issued by CDCR-BPH to obtain comprehensive information regarding eligibility requirements, any small business or disabled veteran business enterprise preferences, technological integration needs with existing CDCR systems, and the anticipated contract value or compensation structure. Additional details regarding evaluation methodology, scoring criteria, and award considerations will likely be detailed in the full solicitation documents available through the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's procurement channels.
