About this opportunity
The California Department of Parks and Recreation, North Coast Redwoods District, is requesting bids for septic tank and vault pumping services at Humboldt Redwoods State Park and Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, with bids due October 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Bidders must be based in either Humboldt or Mendocino County and submit proof of a business location in one of these counties to be deemed responsive — a mandatory local-vendor requirement that filters eligibility.
The scope covers labor, materials, tools, and equipment to pump, haul, and dispose of sewage and clean vaults and septic tanks at multiple locations across both parks. Standard pumping must be completed within two weeks of request; emergency pumping within two hours. The contractor must carry all necessary permits for septic tank pumping and sewage hauling and disposal within Humboldt County. Service locations include Hidden Springs Campground, Williams Grove, Burlington Headquarters, Woman's Federation, Garden Club, Founders Grove, Marin Group, Albee Creek Campground, Cuneo Creek Horse Camp, Hamilton Barn E-Camp, Baxter Environmental Camp, Dyerville Lookout, Grizzly Creek Redwoods Campground, and Mattole Road. Bidders must specify a cost per service for each tank location and service frequency.
The anticipated contract term is May 3, 2027 through May 2, 2030 — three years, or such longer period as follows Department of General Services approval. A 5% small business preference applies to California-certified small businesses or microbusinesses. A Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise incentive of up to 5% is available based on confirmed DVBE participation. The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to increase, decrease, or eliminate line items. Contact Jason Norris at 707-832-1490 or jason.norris@parks.ca.gov.
