About this opportunity

The state and local contract opportunity is a construction project issued by the State of Maryland, spanning Prince George's County and Baltimore City, focused on comprehensive infrastructure improvements at the 1331 S. Monroe Street Inventory and Small Procurement Facility. The procurement involves multiple critical construction elements, including replacement of concrete pavement at the rear gate and circulation roadway, storm drain replacements on Monroe Street, sanitary sewer replacement and abandonment, security system upgrades, and substantial interior mechanical and electrical work. Specific deliverables include excavation of existing pavement, placement of new concrete surfaces, installation of new vehicle and pedestrian gates with updated hardware and electronic control systems, replacement of ditch and roadway inlets, and complete HVAC ductwork, equipment, and ceiling/lighting upgrades on the first and second floors. The contract opportunity is posted with a due date of January 9, 2025, and was initially posted on January 7, 2025. Potential bidders should carefully review the attached final advertisement document and be prepared to demonstrate comprehensive construction capabilities across multiple infrastructural domains, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and security systems engineering.

The procurement does not explicitly indicate specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations based on the provided documentation. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the project appears to require sophisticated multi-disciplinary construction expertise with capabilities in infrastructure rehabilitation, mechanical systems replacement, and security infrastructure upgrades. The contract appears to be a comprehensive renovation project targeting critical facility infrastructure, suggesting potential contractors should have extensive experience in government facility improvements, strong safety protocols, and demonstrated ability to work in sensitive governmental environments. Although no specific budget range is detailed in the available documents, the complexity of the project—involving pavement replacement, sewer systems, gate and security hardware, HVAC upgrades, and interior renovations—implies a substantial capital investment. Prospective bidders should be prepared to demonstrate significant technical capabilities, financial stability, and previous experience with similar large-scale governmental infrastructure improvement projects.
