About this opportunity
New Heights Charter School of Brockton (NHCSB), Massachusetts, is requesting bids on bulk-delivered breakfast, lunch, and afterschool snack meals for the 2026-2027 school year under IFB 2027-NUT01, with bids due August 13, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. ET and public bid opening at 10:45 a.m. the same day. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all mandatory specifications; the vendor must execute the contract by August 17, achieve full operational readiness by August 20, and begin regular meal service September 1, 2026.
The school serves approximately 738 students in grades 6–12 at a single location (1690 Main Street, Brockton). Estimated daily demand is 250–450 breakfasts, 400–650 lunches, and 50–200 afterschool snacks when ordered. The vendor will prepare meals off-site and deliver them in bulk containers for portioning and cafeteria-line service. The contract covers September 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 with no automatic renewal.
Bidders must submit a technical/responsiveness package and a sealed price bid with firm unit prices for breakfast, lunch, afterschool snacks, field-trip meals, and adult meals, plus any mandatory vendor-furnished equipment costs. All base prices must include food, production, packaging, delivery, documentation, and account management and must reflect full operational readiness by August 20. Optional pricing for one or two part-time serving employees may be provided separately but will not factor into the base bid award determination.
The awarded vendor must maintain current health permits, satisfactory inspection status, temperature-controlled transportation, and minimum insurance of $1 million general liability per occurrence and $1 million automobile liability. NHCSB retains all School Food Authority responsibilities, including point-of-sale controls, meal counting and claiming, and program monitoring; the vendor will not manage these functions.
A site visit and kitchen equipment review is scheduled for August 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Written questions are due August 5, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Award is expected August 14, 2026.
