About this opportunity

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) is procuring miniature light bulbs, specifically model #895, through a competitive bidding process under Texas state and local contracting procedures in Dallas County. The procurement is being conducted on an expedited basis due to the urgency of the need, with awards to be made based on a combination of pricing and lead time capabilities. Bidders are required to register through the BONFIRE system to access complete project details and the bid table, where they can submit their proposals. All bids must reflect FOB Destination shipping terms with freight costs included in the overall quoted price, and delivery timeliness is emphasized as essential to contract performance. The submission deadline is May 18, 2026, with the posting date of May 13, 2026, allowing a five-day response window for interested vendors. Successful vendors must comply with DART's standard Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, which are available in the supporting documentation section of the solicitation.

The opportunity does not specify any particular set-aside designations or restrictions limiting participation to specific business classifications such as disadvantaged enterprises, suggesting the procurement is open to qualified vendors generally. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the available solicitation materials, nor are there details regarding existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements. Payment terms are established at Net 30, with invoices to be submitted in triplicate to APInvoices@dart.org and payment calculated from the later of invoice receipt or order receipt date. The solicitation emphasizes that seller performance in meeting specified delivery schedules is critical, with failure to deliver as scheduled constituting grounds for rejection and default termination of the contract. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the posted opportunity materials, and interested bidders should consult the complete Purchase Order Terms and Conditions document and the BONFIRE bid table for additional contractual requirements and submission specifications.
