About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids for building materials for the Canaan Garage project, with bids due October 31, 2007. Bids must be submitted electronically to the Division of Purchases in Augusta.
The scope consists of framing materials (rebar, CDX plywood, building wrap, kiln-dried spruce lumber in multiple dimensions, coil stock in dark green, white soffit panels, strapping, faced insulation, and threaded rod) and steel siding materials (29-gauge light green steel siding in lengths of 5', 6', 8', 9', 10', and 13'; light green J-channel; and 1-inch light green screws). Detailed quantities are specified for each item.
Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each line item, with all prices stated in the units and quantities specified and delivered to destination. Unit prices will govern in case of discrepancy between unit and total prices. The State reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent unless otherwise stated. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value to the State, with evaluation factors including quality, conformance to specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in bid evaluation. Payment terms and delivery timelines must be stated in definite terms.
All transportation and freight charges must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes, and bidders must quote accordingly. Hazardous chemicals must comply with Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law, with material safety data sheets required. Sealed bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered. Bids may be withdrawn only by written notice prior to final contract award; amendments and modifications submitted after opening are prohibited.
