About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking to lease up to 40 AMC Model 2700 juice extractors from Brown International Corporation, LLC to extract, evaluate, and determine the percent of total soluble solids per pound on delivered citrus. This testing is required by state regulations to ensure uniformity and consistency in the citrus industry. The contract term is from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, with an estimated value of $159,900. Brown International Corporation, LLC holds the relevant patents for the AMC Model 2700 juice extractor, and there is no equivalent machine available. Prospective vendors have until April 7, 2023 to provide information demonstrating their ability to supply the required commodities or services. If no other viable sources are identified, the Department intends to enter into a single-source contract with Brown International Corporation, LLC.

This opportunity is designated as a single-source procurement, as Brown International Corporation, LLC holds the relevant patents for the required equipment. The cost of leasing these machines is reimbursed by individual processing plants. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. As this is a single-source procurement, there is no incumbent vendor, and the existing infrastructure and technology must be integrated with the AMC Model 2700 juice extractors provided by Brown International Corporation, LLC.
