Brookhaven public safety building public art sculpture

The City of Brookhaven, Georgia is seeking qualifications from professional artists, with a preference for local artists in the Brookhaven and metro Atlanta area, to design, fabricate, and install a permanent, exterior, public art sculpture to be displayed in front of the new Brookhaven Public Safety Building. The key objectives are to add prestige to the building, inspire public safety staff, and engage the community, with themes such as the police profession, justice, community, courage, and interactivity. The selection process involves three phases, with finalists in Phase II receiving a $500 stipend for their preliminary design submissions. The selected artist or team will be compensated based on their cost estimate and will be required to obtain liability insurance. The sculpture must be durable, low-maintenance, and become the sole property of the City of Brookhaven, which will provide all paint materials while the selected artist is responsible for fabrication and installation. Proposals are due by November 13, 2023.

The Request for Qualifications does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The incumbent vendor or current contractor is unknown, and no information is provided about any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration.
