About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting sealed bids for bridge planking with bids due February 20, 2008. An in-state vendor preference applies in tie situations; bidders offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine receive preference.
Unit prices must be quoted delivered to destination inclusive of all discounts. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value considerations including quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost to the State. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%.
Pricing must exclude Federal and Maine State sales and use taxes. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in bid evaluation; discounts less than 20 days will not factor into award decisions. All transportation charges, including freight and express delivery, shall be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Delivery terms must be stated in definite terms and must comply with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
Bidders proposing alternate commodities must furnish complete identification and descriptive literature; failure to provide such documentation may result in the bid being evaluated as specified. Sealed bids or electronic quotes must be submitted using prescribed forms to the Division of Purchases in Augusta, Maine prior to the closing deadline. Bids received after the closing deadline will not be considered. The contractor is prohibited from assigning, subletting, or transferring the contract without written consent from the Director.
