About this opportunity
The Town of Easton Department of Public Works is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for Bridge No. E06022 Main Street Over Queset Brook Bridge Scour Repair (DPW 2026-16), a construction project with an estimated value of $407,455.00. Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the Town Administrator, 136 Elm Street, North Easton, MA 02356, with bid opening scheduled for April 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at Town Hall. Specifications, plans, and bid forms are available beginning March 16, 2026 at https://www.accentblueprints.com/. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for April 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the project site located at 261 Main Street, which is strongly encouraged but not mandatory for prospective bidders. All prospective bidders must be prequalified in accordance with 700 CMR 14.00 and hold current MassDOT prequalification as a Bridge-Construction contractor, and bids from contractors not on the official or waiver contractor lists issued by the MassDOT Prequalification Office will not be opened. Award selection will be based on bidder qualifications, including evidence of past performance on similar projects, and bid price, with the contract being awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder as determined by the awarding authority.
The procurement is restricted to contractors currently prequalified with MassDOT as Bridge-Construction contractors; no set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise restrictions are specified in the available documentation. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security consisting of a bid bond, cash, or certified check in the amount of 5 percent of the bid price, and the successful contractor must provide both a performance bond and a labor and materials bond, each equal to 100 percent of the total bid amount. Bids shall remain valid for 30 days following the opening, excluding weekends and legal holidays. All bids are subject to applicable Massachusetts public bidding laws, including G.L. c.30, 39M and G.L. c.149, 44A through 44H, as well as minimum wage rate requirements established by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Sections 26-27D. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the procurement documents, and the project scope focuses specifically on scour repair for the Main Street bridge over Queset Brook.
