About this opportunity

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is soliciting bids for a comprehensive bridge improvements project in Suffolk County, specifically targeting Routes CR 19, 906A, NY 110, and 454 across the towns of Brookhaven, Huntington, Islip, and Smithtown. The procurement, identified by Contract ID 67bef709ae081c28dc0510bc, involves infrastructure rehabilitation and enhancement of multiple bridge structures. Electronic bid documents will be available starting March 5, 2025, with sealed bids due on April 10, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at the NYSDOT Office of Contract Management in Albany. Bidders must submit a bid deposit of approximately $375,000 (5% of bid) and include a bid bond, certified check, or bank cashier's check. The project requires electronic submission through www.bidx.com, and all bidders must carefully review and incorporate any amendments posted on the NYSDOT website. Technical questions must be submitted through the Construction Contracting section of the NYSDOT Business Center.

The contract includes a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of 9.00%, signaling a commitment to promoting diversity in contracting. No Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business set-aside is specified for this opportunity. Bidders are required to use the Equitable Business Opportunity (EBO) reporting software for civil rights compliance and must submit DBE Commitments with their bids for this federal aid project. The procurement adheres to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, ensuring non-discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, and income status. While no incumbent vendors are listed, the contract appears to be open to small businesses, including D/M/WBE and SDVOB firms. The award of the contract may be contingent upon the passage of a budget appropriation bill by the New York State Legislature and Governor. Interested parties should note that communication with NYSDOT is strictly regulated, and contact with non-designated persons could result in bid disqualification.
