About this opportunity

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is seeking a qualified vendor to replace the battery system at the Beckley Traction Power Substation (TPSS) located in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas. The procurement involves a Blanket Purchase Order (BPO) for procuring and installing sixty (60) AGM-100FR 2-volt 100AH VRLA batteries with flame retardant cases, a modular seismic rack, a Hindle Power ATEVO charger, and associated installation services. The project requires comprehensive tasks including a joint site visit, confirming measurements, performing work under safety protocols, providing temporary backup power, removing existing equipment, shipping old batteries to a reclamation center, installing new equipment, conducting voltage/current testing, and submitting a final report. The vendor must provide all installation materials, include freight and handling costs in the proposal, offer manufacturer warranties of at least one year, and provide an operational overview/training to facility staff. The solicitation is posted on Bonfire and requires vendor registration, with a response deadline of August 14, 2025, and work to be performed Monday through Friday from 7AM-5PM under the oversight of DART's Traction Electrification Systems (TES) representative.

While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documents, DART's purchase order terms indicate commitment to equal opportunity employment practices. The procurement appears open to qualified vendors capable of meeting technical specifications and installation requirements. The project has a base performance period of two months, with all costs including supervision, labor, equipment, materials, licensing, and other charges to be included in unit pricing, with no subsequent price adjustments permitted. Installation specifications require compliance with ANSI/IEEE standards and manufacturer specifications, including proper disassembly, removal, and disposal of existing battery systems in accordance with DEQ/EPA regulations. DART will provide a temporary battery system at no charge during installation, and the start-up process includes equipment and personnel necessary to initiate the 60 battery cells and associated charger. Payment terms are net 30, with invoices to be submitted electronically, and the total project cost will be determined by the selected vendor's detailed pricing submission through the Supplier Portal.
