About this opportunity
The state of Vermont, specifically Rutland County, is soliciting bids for the Bolton Road Resurfacing 2025 project, a road maintenance contract for Bolton Valley Access Road. The procurement involves reclaiming and fine grading approximately one mile of roadway starting from US Route 2 and proceeding north to the "Welcome to Bolton Valley" road sign. Key deliverables include machine paving with a 2.5" binder course and 1.5" wearing course, surface preparation, pothole repair, and restriping/painted markings. Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the site and observe existing conditions before submitting proposals. The contract requires contractors to submit a detailed traffic control plan to the Town for approval at least 72 hours prior to mobilization, with coordination necessary for traffic management. The proposal due date is June 26, 2025, with the opportunity initially posted on June 9, 2025. Bidders must be prepared to potentially utilize flaggers and uniformed traffic officers during construction, with add-alternate line items included in the bid forms for these services.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the procurement documentation, the contract appears to be open to qualified contractors capable of performing complex road resurfacing work. The bituminous concrete pavement must meet Section 406 of the Standard Specifications, indicating technical competency requirements. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and no specific budget range is mentioned in the available documentation. The project involves standard road infrastructure improvement with potential for local contractors or regional road construction firms to compete. Traffic control and coordination with local municipal authorities will be critical components of the successful bidder's responsibilities. Interested contractors should carefully review the full bid specifications and be prepared to demonstrate expertise in road reclamation, paving, and traffic management techniques specific to municipal highway projects.
