The Ohio Department of Veterans Services, specifically the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, is seeking to procure a specialized gasket-making tape for compressed air systems through a targeted procurement process. The specific item being sought is TK132374578T Gasket-Making Tape, which is a pure 100 percent PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) tape designed for specific sealing applications in compressed air systems. This procurement is structured as a general purpose thread sealing product purchase with strict pricing parameters. The contract opportunity was posted on October 27, 2025, with proposals due by November 7, 2025, indicating a relatively short procurement window of approximately 11 days. Pricing for the gasket-making tape is explicitly restricted and cannot exceed the established Grainger price contract #RSC023972 (Index #GPC511), which suggests a predetermined pricing benchmark for potential vendors.

The procurement is exclusively reserved for Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) suppliers, which significantly narrows the pool of eligible vendors to those meeting specific diversity and business ownership criteria. This set-aside designation means only certified minority-owned businesses can submit proposals for this contract opportunity. While the specific award value is not explicitly stated, the procurement appears to be for a specific quantity of gasket-making tape with pricing tied to an existing Grainger contract. The restriction to MBE suppliers indicates a strategic procurement approach aimed at supporting diverse business participation in state contract opportunities. The Ohio Department of Veterans Services is likely seeking to standardize its thread sealing materials for compressed air systems while simultaneously promoting minority business participation in state procurement processes.
