About this opportunity

The Idaho Transportation Department is seeking a brand name exemption for the procurement of a Wide Wing Snowplow through a competitive solicitation process. The procurement specifically requests approval for a single brand name procurement, which would eliminate alternative or substitute product offerings. The procurement is currently open for supplier feedback and information submission, with a closing date of February 19, 2025. Interested suppliers are invited to provide supporting or contradictory information regarding the agency's claim that the specified brand is the only one capable of meeting their operational needs. Suppliers can submit their information through two methods: by attaching documentation in the Supplier Attachments section of IPRO or by emailing purchasing@adm.idaho.gov. The final decision regarding the brand name exemption remains at the discretion of the Department of Procurement (DOP) Administrator, and no right of appeal exists for suppliers.

While the procurement documents do not specify explicit set-aside designations or vendor restrictions, the opportunity appears open to all qualified suppliers who can provide relevant information about the snowplow requirements. No incumbent vendor information is disclosed, and no specific budget range or award value is indicated in the current documentation. The procurement process emphasizes transparency, allowing suppliers an opportunity to contribute insights that might influence the brand name exemption decision. The solicitation is specific to snowplow equipment for the Idaho Transportation Department, suggesting a specialized procurement focused on winter road maintenance infrastructure. Suppliers are encouraged to review the agency's detailed request, which is available in the Buyer Attachment section of IPRO, to understand the full context of the brand name exemption request.

Opportunity text

The Idaho Transportation Department has requested a brand name exemption for the purchase of Wide Wing Snowplow. If approved, a brand name exemption allows an agency to specify one brand name only in a procurement and to eliminate bids for any alternate or substitute property. Brand name exemptions are at the discretion of the DOP Administrator. In the interest of transparency, DOP is offering suppliers the opportunity to review this requested exemption and provide relevant information. The decision remains discretionary, and suppliers have no right to appeal the Administrator's decision. Suppliers are invited to provide information that may help the DOP Administrator make a decision regarding this brand name exemption. Please review the Agency's request, attached in the Buyer Attachment section of IPRO. You are invited to provide information that may help support or contradict the claim that the named brand is the only brand that can meet the agency's business needs. Submit your information by attaching it in the Supplier Attachments section of IPRO and submitting your response or emailing purchasing@adm.idaho.gov. To be considered by the Administrator, all information must be submitted prior to the closing date and time listed in IPRO.
