About this opportunity

The state of Idaho, specifically the Department of Health and Welfare (DHW), is seeking procurement through a Blanket Purchase Order (BNO) for AiristaFlow B4N Safety Badges and related fire protection services. While specific details about the exact scope of services are limited, the opportunity appears to involve technology-related safety badge solutions. The contract was posted on September 20, 2024, with a submission deadline of September 25, 2024, representing a very tight response window. The procurement is being managed through the Idaho Division of Purchasing, with J.P. Brady noted as the primary contact for the request. Concurrently, another Request for Proposal (RFP Event 427) was also posted by the Idaho STEM Action Center for marketing, branding, graphic design, advertising, public relations, and website management services, though this appears to be a separate procurement effort.

Based on the available documentation, there are no explicit details regarding set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or specific restrictions on vendor participation. The budget and potential contract value are not clearly defined in the provided materials. No incumbent vendors or existing technological infrastructure details are specified in the documents. The contract appears to be focused on fire protection services and safety badge technology, suggesting potential interest from vendors with expertise in safety management systems, badge technologies, and related protective service solutions. While the RFP for the STEM Action Center indicates a budget not to exceed $95,000 annually, no similar financial parameters are provided for the AiristaFlow safety badge procurement. The short turnaround time between posting and submission deadline suggests an urgent or time-sensitive procurement need from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

Opportunity text

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has requested a brand name exemption for the purchase of AirstaFlow B4n safety badges. If approved, a brand name exemption allows an agency to specify one brand name only in a procurement and to eliminate bids for any alternate or substitute property. Brand name exemptions are at the discretion of the DOP Administrator. In the interest of transparency, DOP is offering suppliers the opportunity to review this requested exemption and provide relevant information. The decision remains discretionary, and suppliers have no right to appeal the Administrator's decision. Suppliers are invited to provide information that may help the DOP Administrator make a decision regarding this brand name exemption. Please review the Agency's request, attached in the Buyer Attachment section of IPRO. You are invited to provide information that may help support or contradict the claim that the named brand is the only brand that can meet the agency's business needs. Submit your information by attaching it in the Supplier Attachments section of IPRO and submitting your response or emailing purchasing@adm.idaho.gov. To be considered by the Administrator, all information must be submitted prior to the closing date and time listed in IPRO.
