About this opportunity
Gwinnett County's Board of Commissioners is seeking competitive sealed bids for the Purchase of Sodium Chloride on an Annual Contract for the Department of Water Resources. The solicitation is for approximately 1,000 tons of sodium chloride annually, to be delivered to two water production facilities: the Lanier Filter Plant and the Shoal Creek Filter Plant. The sodium chloride must be Morton Salt Culinox 999 or an approved equivalent, meeting specific technical requirements of being a food-grade material with 99.9% sodium chloride by weight. Bids are due on July 29, 2025, at 2:50 P.M. local time, with a public bid opening at 3:00 P.M. The contract will have an initial 12-month term with four potential one-year renewal options. Vendors must provide detailed security information for delivery, including driver details, truck registration, and seal numbers, as well as certificates of compliance with EPA, AWWA, and NSF standards. The county reserves the right to reject any bid and make awards deemed in its best interest, with pricing to remain firm for the initial contract term.
The solicitation includes specific restrictions for bidders, particularly noting that firms on the Gwinnett County ineligible source list are prohibited from submitting bids. Vendors must meet comprehensive insurance requirements, including commercial general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation coverage. There are no specific set-aside designations or preferences for disadvantaged enterprises mentioned in the documentation. The procurement does not indicate any incumbent vendors or require integration with existing infrastructure or technology. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the contract is for approximately 1,000 tons of sodium chloride annually, suggesting a potential annual contract value that would depend on current market pricing for the specified food-grade sodium chloride. Successful bidders will need to demonstrate compliance with technical specifications, security requirements, and comprehensive insurance standards to be considered for the contract award.
