About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Health's Bureau of Public Health Laboratories (BPHL) is seeking to purchase reagents and service agreements from bioMerieux for the BioFire system, an integrated sample preparation, amplification, detection, and analysis platform. This fully automated, multiplex PCR system is capable of detecting multiple pathogen targets in one sample within an hour, supporting the CDC's outbreak detection activities for viral diseases. BPHL currently utilizes BioFire equipment and requires these reagents and service to continue participating in nationwide testing. The intended single-source purchase is for a 3-year term with an estimated value of $368,438. Prospective vendors have until April 25, 2022 to provide information on their ability to supply the required commodities or services. If it is determined that the items are only available from a single source, BPHL will provide notice of its intended decision to enter a single-source purchase contract.

The contract is not designated for any specific set-aside or restricted to particular organization types. bioMerieux is the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of the required BioFire reagents and equipment. There are no listed incumbent vendors or integration requirements, and the budget range has been provided as part of the estimated $368,438 contract value.
