About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking qualified suppliers to provide Biohazardous Regulated Medical Waste Removal Services through an electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) in accordance with the State Purchasing Act. The procurement aims to establish contracts with up to five suppliers, specifically one supplier per hospital location across the state. The services will support DBHDD's critical mission of providing treatment and support for individuals with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. This solicitation seeks vendors capable of safely and efficiently removing regulated medical waste from five hospital sites throughout Georgia. The eRFQ was posted on August 20, 2025, with proposals due by September 12, 2025, providing potential bidders approximately three weeks to prepare and submit their quotes. Interested vendors must demonstrate compliance with medical waste removal regulations and possess the necessary certifications and operational capabilities to handle biohazardous materials in a healthcare environment.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the procurement appears to be open to qualified vendors who can meet the technical and operational requirements for medical waste removal. The contract opportunity suggests potential for multiple awards, with up to five separate contracts to be issued—one for each hospital location. Although specific budget ranges are not disclosed, the multi-site nature of the contract indicates a substantial potential contract value. The procurement is structured to ensure comprehensive medical waste management services across DBHDD's hospital network, with an emphasis on selecting suppliers who can consistently meet stringent healthcare waste disposal standards. Vendors will need to demonstrate expertise in handling biohazardous materials, compliance with state and federal regulations, and the ability to provide reliable, safe waste removal services for behavioral health and developmental disability treatment facilities.
