About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Health (DOH) Bureau of Public Health Laboratories (BPHL) is seeking to procure the Bio-Rad Laboratories Geenius System, an assay that can perform HIV-1/HIV-2 Supplemental differentiation testing to confirm HIV infection in patients. The assay must be able to test whole blood, serum, plasma, and in-house validated oral fluid to conform to the CDC 2014 HIV Diagnostic Algorithm guidelines. The DOH is requesting authorization to purchase the Bio-Rad Laboratories Geenius System assays and controls as a single source for a 3-year term. The estimated value of the single source contract is $460,000. The justification for the single source acquisition is that the Geenius System is the only FDA approved HIV-1/HIV-2 differential assay currently on the U.S. market and has been validated in-house for the confirmation of HIV-1 Oral Fluid meeting the guidelines required. The contract opportunity is limited to the jurisdictions of Leon County and Tampa City in Florida. The due date for this opportunity is June 19, 2024.

This contract opportunity is a single source procurement, meaning it is limited to Bio-Rad Laboratories as the sole distributor of the Geenius System. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The incumbent vendor is Bio-Rad Laboratories, and the Geenius System must be integrated with the DOH's existing infrastructure and technology. The estimated budget for this contract is $460,000.
