About this opportunity
The state of Connecticut, specifically CT State Colleges & Universities, is soliciting bids for the Capital Community College Playscape Renovations project (Solicitation #6284 BI-CTC-607) located in Hartford County. The comprehensive renovation project involves multiple critical components, including the removal and storage of existing playscape structures, complete removal of existing surface and subsurface materials down to the concrete deck, and extensive repairs to the concrete deck and drainage system. The contractor will be responsible for installing waterproof membranes, lightweight concrete, and reinstalling playscape structures, with certain specialized components designated for completion by a Preferred Vendor. Key deliverables include trench drain inspection and repairs, waterproof membrane installation, and final playscape surfacing. The solicitation requires vendors to include all items necessary to complete the work as described in the contract documents, with work to be constructed under the contractor's contract. The bid period runs from February 1, 2022, to March 15, 2022, with a vendor Q&A period from February 1 to February 28, 2022. The contact for questions is Allan duFrend at CT State Colleges & Universities, and the project follows prevailing wage requirements with Free On Board Destination delivery terms.
The solicitation is open to all vendors without specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are explicitly mentioned in the documentation. The bid does not specify any disadvantaged enterprise requirements or preferences. While the documents include comprehensive specifications, drawings, and general conditions (A201-2017), no estimated total contract value is provided in the solicitation materials. The project requires coordination between the general contractor and a Preferred Vendor for specific playscape-related tasks, including structure removal, reinstallation, and surfacing. Payment terms are vendor-specified, and the project includes standard documentation such as specifications, invitation to bid, general conditions, prevailing wage rates, and project drawings. The solicitation suggests this is a lump-sum project without specified line items, indicating that vendors will need to provide comprehensive pricing for the entire scope of work.
