About this opportunity

The state of Pennsylvania, specifically through Northampton County, is seeking electronic bids for emergency and routine repair work for the Bethlehem Station's mechanical systems. The contract opportunity involves comprehensive maintenance services for heating, air-conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and generator systems, with an effective period from July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2016. Bidders are required to submit electronic responses through the Pennsylvania Supplier Portal (www.pasupplierportal.com) and must be registered vendors to participate. A mandatory component of the bid process includes completing a Proof of Visit form that must be signed by the Station Commander or designee and the vendor, which must be mailed or faxed to the Pennsylvania State Police Facility Management Division by the bid opening date of April 30, 2013. Vendors will be responsible for billing parts at cost and must actively monitor the Department of General Services (DGS) website for potential change notices that will be incorporated into the bid documentation.

While the contract opportunity does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or vendor restrictions, potential bidders must demonstrate technical capability to perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and generator maintenance services. The procurement appears to be open to qualified commercial service providers with expertise in institutional mechanical system repair and maintenance. No specific incumbent vendor information is provided in the documentation, and the exact budget range or potential contract value is not disclosed. Interested vendors must complete the registration process, obtain a vendor number, and ensure compliance with all submission requirements, including the mandatory site visit documentation. The contract's three-year duration suggests a substantial commitment to maintaining critical infrastructure and mechanical systems at the Bethlehem Station.
