About this opportunity

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is requesting bids on construction of a shared use path on State Route 80 in the City of Bisbee, Cochise County, with bids due October 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. (M.S.T.). Contractors must be prequalified with ADOT and registered on the project Plansholder List as Prime to submit a valid bid.

The scope includes constructing a shared use path to replace the existing sidewalk, extending from milepost 341.32 to 341.53. Work encompasses concrete retaining walls and sidewalk, grading, concrete curb and gutter, pavement marking, signing, lighting, and related work.

The programmed contract amount is $3.635 million with a contract completion time of 267 working days. This is a federal-aid project subject to Title VI Civil Rights Act requirements. During the current transition period under the interim final rule for DBE regulations, ADOT is not setting contract-specific DBE goals and will not count participation toward its overall DBE goal until the Arizona Unified Certification Program completes recertification; however, contractors are encouraged to employ reasonable DBE neutral efforts. All contractors must comply with federal and state labor requirements, including minimum wage rates as determined by the Secretary of Labor, and must be duly licensed under Arizona Revised Statutes 32-1101 through 32-1170.03.

Bidders must submit a proposal guaranty of 10 percent of the bid amount payable to ADOT. The awarded contractor will execute a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in 100 percent of the bid amount, along with an Insurance Certificate and Contract Agreement. Contract documents are available electronically through ADOT's Contracts and Specifications Group website at no charge. Questions must be submitted in writing through the Bid Express (Bidx) website; submissions received less than three working days prior to bid opening may not be answered.
