About this opportunity

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) is seeking to procure a battery tray assembly for storage in an LRV (Light Rail Vehicle), model SRM250CF3x5, with a wet-cell battery component (Procurement ID: 2097724). This purchase order procurement is open to qualified vendors capable of meeting DART's stringent operational and compliance requirements. The primary deliverable is the specified battery tray assembly unit that must meet exact specifications for compatibility with the identified light rail vehicle model. Key requirements include FOB Destination shipping terms with freight costs incorporated into the overall bid price, adherence to Net 30 payment terms, and strict compliance with delivery schedules as specified by DART, with failure to meet delivery timelines constituting grounds for order rejection and default termination. Vendors must provide commercial warranties ensuring merchantable quality and specification compliance, equivalent to the most favorable terms offered to any customer. Additional mandatory qualifications include certification that the vendor is not listed on the Texas Comptroller's Foreign Terrorist Organization list and verification that the vendor does not boycott Israel. The proposal submission deadline is February 13, 2026, with registration in the BONFIRE system required to access the complete bid table and project details. The posting date was January 27, 2026, allowing potential bidders approximately two weeks to prepare and submit responses.

The procurement documents do not explicitly detail set-aside designations, disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) restrictions, or specific incumbent vendor information in the available materials. However, all vendors must comply with equal employment opportunity requirements and meet DART's standard Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, which are governed by Texas law with venue in Dallas County. The procurement is subject to DART's broad contractual rights, including modification with equitable adjustment provisions and termination authority for default or convenience. No specific award value or budget range has been disclosed in the publicly available documentation; interested vendors must access the BONFIRE portal and review the complete bid table for pricing expectations and technical specifications. The Authority reserves the right to modify contract terms and resolve disputes through the Contracting Officer with final appeal to the Authority.
