About this opportunity
Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) is seeking to procure AA batteries with specific technical specifications, specifically 1.2V Nickel-Cadmium high-temperature batteries with solder tabs, as detailed in solicitation number 2094378. The procurement opportunity was posted on August 11, 2025, with proposals due by August 14, 2025, indicating a brief three-day window for vendor responses. Interested vendors must complete Bonfire registration to access full bid details and must submit their proposals through the platform's in-browser BidTable. The procurement is structured as a purchase order with strict delivery and performance requirements, emphasizing that time and delivery rates are critical elements of the contract. DART requires vendors to include freight costs in their overall pricing and adhere to FOB Destination shipping terms, with a clear expectation that failure to meet delivery specifications could result in rejection and contract termination.
The contract opportunity appears open to all qualified vendors, with no explicit set-aside designations or restrictions based on enterprise type mentioned in the available documentation. DART has established comprehensive payment terms of Net 30, meaning invoices will be processed and paid within 30 days of receipt, either of the invoice or the order, whichever is later. Vendors must submit invoices electronically to APInvoices@dart.org and include specific details such as purchase order number, item description, quantities, unit prices, and extended totals. The organization is tax-exempt from Texas state and local sales taxes, which may provide potential cost advantages for the winning vendor. While no specific budget range or award value is explicitly stated for this battery procurement, the detailed terms and conditions suggest a professional, structured procurement process governed by DART's standard purchase order protocols and Texas state procurement regulations.
