About this opportunity
The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners Purchasing Department has issued Request for Quotation (RFQ) #300617/SM for the purchase and delivery of utility batteries under a term contract. The procurement seeks quotations for two specific battery models on an annual basis: 200 units of Odyssey Model ODX-AGM31 (or equal) and 200 units of Odyssey Model ODX-AGM34 (or equal), both featuring BCI Group pure lead AGM technology with defined specifications for voltage, cranking amperage, capacity, and dimensions. Responses must be submitted by May 20, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time to the Palm Beach County Purchasing Department located at 50 South Military Trail, Suite 110, West Palm Beach, Florida 33415. The successful vendor must be registered in the County's Vendor Self Service (VSS) system, and all subcontractors must also maintain VSS registration. The contract will be awarded for an initial twelve-month term with options to renew for four additional twelve-month periods at the County's discretion, subject to mutual written agreement and annual appropriations. Pricing must be firm and fixed with all unit prices offered to two decimal points, with prices remaining firm throughout the initial term and all renewal periods. The successful vendor will be responsible for all transportation, shipping, delivery, and freight charges, with delivery required within three calendar days of purchase order or delivery order receipt unless otherwise approved, and must remove used battery cores at the County's request at no additional cost.
Palm Beach County offers a 5% local preference to vendors with a permanent place of business within the county and an additional 5% Glades preference to businesses located in the Glades area, both contingent upon submission of a valid Business Tax Receipt and completed Certification of Business Location. Small, minority, and women-owned business enterprises (S/M/WBE) certified by Palm Beach County at the time of quote submission may receive contract award consideration if their pricing falls within 10% of the lowest responsive, responsible vendor price, provided they submit completed Schedules 1 and 2 documenting all S/M/WBE participation. The County is exempt from Federal and State taxes, will not pay deposits for cores, and retains the right to return defective items at vendor expense. Payment will be made only after goods are received, accepted, and properly invoiced with the purchase order number referenced. No specific budget range or award value has been listed in the solicitation documents; pricing will be determined based on competitive quotations received from qualified vendors.
