About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is pursuing a single-source procurement for laboratory and scientific equipment from Ayalytical Instruments Inc., specifically targeting four Auto sampler 10 positions for ERAVAP (EV10) units designed for gasoline and crude oil testing. The procurement involves two units to be delivered to the Consumer Services Tampa Lab and two units to the Consumer Services Pompano Lab, with associated components including Luer inlet nuts, sampling tubes, and mesh inlet filters. This procurement is intended to enhance laboratory testing efficiency by providing an automated sampling system that minimizes human error and improves accuracy and throughput. The procurement process is governed by a statutorily mandated fifteen business day advertisement, during which prospective vendors can provide alternative information. The key deadline for submission is February 24, 2025, with vendors required to demonstrate their capability to provide comparable commodities or services. Ayalytical Instruments Inc. is positioned as the sole authorized provider for these specific equipment units in the Americas, with documented service and marketing exclusivity.
The procurement appears to be unrestricted in terms of vendor type, with no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises mentioned in the documentation. The estimated total procurement value is up to $120,920.00, with an approximate contract amount of $60,460.00. While no incumbent vendors are explicitly referenced, the procurement is clearly focused on very specific scientific equipment with unique technological requirements. The procurement has received internal approvals from multiple officials, including the Division Director of Consumer Services and Director of Administration. The single-source justification is predicated on Ayalytical Instruments Inc.'s exclusive capability to provide, market, and service these particular automated sampling units for laboratory testing. The contract appears to be structured for immediate procurement and implementation, with a clear emphasis on technological specificity and performance enhancement in laboratory testing environments.
